LDM Elects Cathy Trent-Vilim and Rick Harris to Management Committee

Lamson Dugan and Murray LLP announces the election of Cathy Trent-Vilim as the newest member of the Management Committee. This decision, made by the Partnership of the Firm, solidifies Cathy’s position alongside Omaha Partners Patrick G. Vipond and Kyle Wallor, as well as Des Moines Partner Rick Harris. Rick, also a newer member of the Management Committee, joined in January of last year.

Cathy specializes in the areas of appellate practice, commercial litigation and arbitration, and professional negligence. She currently serves as the Nebraska State Chair of the American Bar Association’s Council of Appellate Lawyers and a former Co-Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association. Since 2016, Cathy has been consistently recognized by her peers, earning a place in the prestigious Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation. In 2023, she was also selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America in the area of Appellate Practice.

Rick has over 25 years of courtroom experience defending physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers in medical malpractice claims. He has tried jury cases in many Iowa courts including 19 jury trials in Polk County, five jury trials in Cerro Gordo, three jury trials in Pottawattamie as well as jury trials in the following Iowa counties: Carroll, Poweshiek, Marion, Shelby, Mahaska, Decatur, Wapello, Monona, Woodbury, Allamakee, Clay and where he grew up in Greene County.
