What is your definition of success?

Success is finding happiness and sharing it with others. Some days finding happiness can be harder than others. But if I can find and share some happiness every day, either professionally (for a client or co-worker) or at home (for friends, family, or even complete strangers), I consider that day to be a success.

What’s the most unique part about working at LDM?

I love being a trial attorney and our firm, LDM, was built on the shoulders of many great advocates. LDM has provided me with every opportunity to further develop my passion in the presence of extremely talented and kind individuals. The culture here is second to none and has made finding success much easier.

What’s one thing — either industry-related or not — you learned in the last month?

That my son and I have a 0.44% chance of pulling a Pokémon Rainbow Charizard from a Pokémon booster pack. He wants to buy 250 booster packs to test that statistic.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is just starting their career?

We “practice” law. As a young lawyer, you should focus on building the skills that you will need in 5 to 10 years. That requires practice and repetition, if you treat it as a job, it will always be just a job to you. But if you consistently study and challenge yourself to improve, it can become a career that brings you a lifetime of success and happiness.

What are you currently reading, listening to or binge-watching?

After many years, I finally committed to watching Suits. It is pure entertainment and reminds me of many things that I should never do as a lawyer.
