I recently came across a survey conducted by Software Advice analyzing the software contractors use construction for estimating projects. The purpose of the survey was to establish industry benchmarks to gauge the efficiency, effectiveness and performance of cost estimating systems. And, it allowed contractors to compare their project management processes against other contractors and construction professionals from a variety of trades

The survey provided an interesting look into what systems contractors are using to estimate project, the effectiveness of their system, and challenges they are facing. You can see the 2012 survey here.

Software Advice is conducting the survey again for 2013. Click here if you are interested in participating in this year’s survey.

The survey will run until March 20th. After all responses have been collected, Software Advice will publish their 2013 Construction Project Management Benchmark Report. The report will include industry project management benchmarks such as:

• Average percent of projects delivered on-time and on-budget

• Top project management errors and challenges

• Common strengths and weaknesses of project management technologies

• Top project management priorities for 2013

I hope you find the survey results interesting and are able to participate in the 2013 survey.
