Jason is a partner in Lamson Dugan & Murray’s West Des Moines office. He handles litigation matters involving legal malpractice and wills and trusts and has extensive experience defending clients in product liability matters involving fires, explosions, and carbon monoxide events relating to commercial and household appliances. His clients have included local, national, and international manufacturers.
Additionally, he commonly represents municipalities and counties relating to false arrest and excessive force claims under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 and various state law claims. His municipal practice is in federal and state court as well as in front of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission. He further reviews and drafts internal department policies and procedures including use of force and vehicle pursuit policies.
Jason also has extensive experience defending trucking companies in personal injury and cargo claims. He has handled lawsuits involving multiple wrongful deaths, paralysis, and other serious injuries. His cargo experience involves causes of action under the Carmack Amendment and state law claims. Like his work with municipalities and counties, Jason reviews and drafts company policies and procedures regarding various transportation issues for his clients. He represents local, regional, and national carriers.
