Craig W. Benson
Senior Counsel
I am a dedicated corporate, business succession and private wealth attorney with a passion for providing comprehensive legal solutions to individuals, families and businesses. With expertise in tax / corporate law, business succession planning and estate / multi-generational wealth transfer planning, I provide my clients with strategic advice to navigate the complexities of the business world while protecting and preserving personal wealth and the continued operation of the business for future generations.
I have had the privilege of guiding clients through complex legal matters with empathy, integrity, and professionalism. Whether it’s crafting personalized estate or business succession plans, navigating probate and trust administrations, or advising on tax-efficient wealth transfer planning strategies, I am dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for my clients. I also offer advisory services for businesses, including: strategic exit planning; contract review, drafting and negotiation; tax-smart restructuring of organizational structures; mergers and acquisitions; and entity formations.
My approach is rooted in building long-term relationships based on trust, transparency, and open communication. I understand that every client’s situation is unique, and I take the time to listen attentively to their concerns and goals. By providing tailored solutions and strategic advice, I strive to empower my clients to make informed decisions about their financial future.
In addition to my legal practice, I regularly present at continuing education seminars for lawyers, CPAs and investment advisors on topics ranging from advanced tax planning techniques for businesses, to multi-generational wealth transfer planning and business succession planning for high-net-worth individuals and business owners. I have also drafted state-level legislation and provided testimony before legislation committees that resulted in the passage of laws that make Nebraska businesses and trusts more competitive with their neighboring states.
Aside from my professional activities, I believe strongly in giving back to the community. I currently serve as a board member for the American Cancer Society (Omaha) and Ralston Chamber of Commerce; am an Executive Committee Member of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s Tax Section; and am a member of the Omaha Estate Planning Counsel and Charitable Gift Planners of Nebraska. I have also been recognized as an “Experienced Ag Legal Professional” with Nebraska Farm Bureau.
