Life at LDM | Attorney Spotlight, Darlene Gomez
What is your definition of success?
To me, success means being able to do work that I genuinely enjoy and finding a sense of purpose in it. It also means continuing to challenge myself and being proud of how much I have grown along the way.
What's the most unique part about working at LDM?
The most unique aspect of working at LDM is the collaborative environment. I have been able to learn from attorneys with different experiences and perspectives, while still having the opportunity to develop my own approach to my work. I appreciate that the people at LDM are genuinely willing to help one another succeed.
What’s one thing — either industry-related or not — you learned in the last month?
I have been reminded of how important prioritization and communication are. When you are juggling multiple deadlines and responsibilities, staying organized is only part of it. Communicating clearly and early can make a big difference.
What’s the best advice you can give to someone who is just starting their career?
The advice I would give someone just starting their career is to not be afraid to ask for help. Early on, there can be a lot of pressure to feel like you should know all the answers, but no one expects you to know everything. Some of the best learning opportunities come from asking questions and being willing to learn from the people around you.
What are you currently reading, binge-watching or listing to?
I am currently rewatching The Office. No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.
