Where Trial Lawyers Are Made
We believe the best trial attorneys aren't born—they're built. That's why we don't just talk about courtroom experience—we deliver it.
From the very start of their careers, our litigation associates are given meaningful opportunities to develop and sharpen their litigation and trial skills. Whether it's handling depositions, arguing motions, second-chairing trials, or taking a lead role in court under the guidance of experienced mentors, our approach is hands-on, immersive, and intentional.
A Commitment That Sets Us Apart
In a legal landscape where many firms delay courtroom exposure, LDM stands out. We're proud to partner with our clients to be among the few law firms that actively invest in growing the next generation of trial attorneys—because we know that real-world experience creates better advocates, stronger teams, and more favorable outcomes for our clients.
This culture of opportunity benefits everyone:
• Our clients gain the advantage of skilled, trial-ready teams at every level.
• Our associates accelerate their careers through practical experience and mentorship.
• Our firm stays sharp, agile, and prepared—inside and outside the courtroom.

Interview Resources
Interviews are not just about answering questions; they are your chance to shine. Show your enthusiasm and curiosity by asking insightful questions. Consider inquiries like:
- Could you tell me more about the firm's most impactful recent case and how it aligns with my potential role?
- What is the firm's approach to professional development and mentorship for associates and law clerks?
- How does the firm stay at the forefront of emerging legal trends in [practice area]?
- What are some work habits that you believe help a law clerk or associate be successful at your firm?
- How would you describe the culture of the firm?
- Where do you see the firm developing in the next five years?
Asking thoughtful questions demonstrates your genuine interest and helps you gauge whether the firm aligns with your goals.
First impressions matter, especially in the legal world. Dressing appropriately showcases your professionalism and respect for the process. Opt for a classic business attire that exudes confidence:
For men: A tailored suit, crisp dress shirt, tie, polished shoes, and minimal accessories.
For women: A well-fitted pantsuit or skirt suit, a professional blouse.
Remember, confidence blooms when you feel comfortable in what you're wearing. Learn about our suit scholarship.
Preparation is your secret weapon for interview success. Here's a roadmap to follow:
- Research the Firm: Dive deep into the firm's history, values, recent cases, and attorneys. Show that you've done your homework.
- Craft Your Story: Be ready to discuss your journey, experiences, and why you're drawn to the legal field. Highlight skills that make you an asset.
- Practice Responses: Anticipate common interview questions (e.g., strengths, weaknesses, teamwork examples) and rehearse your answers. But stay authentic!
- Mock Interviews: Enlist a friend or mentor for mock interviews. Constructive feedback can be a game-changer.
- Questions List: Prepare a list of questions to ask your interviewers – showcase your curiosity about the firm's culture, growth opportunities, and expectations.
Remember, preparation is the bridge between uncertainty and confidence.
