Federal Court Dismisses Excessive Force Claims Against LDM’s Clients
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa has dismissed with prejudice all excessive force claims and related allegations brought against LDM’s clients.
In an order issued on November 26, 2025, the court granted a Motion to Dismiss filed by LDM’s defense team, fully removing our clients from the lawsuit at the pleading stage. The dismissal with prejudice closes the matter and prevents the claims from being refiled.
LDM attorneys secured this outcome through focused early-stage litigation strategy and persuasive briefing tailored to the constitutional issues raised.
“This result underscores the value of strong motion practice in the early phases of litigation,” the team noted. “We appreciate the court’s careful consideration of the issues presented.”
LDM continues to represent Iowa public entities and government personnel in complex civil actions, including claims involving excessive force, civil rights allegations, and other high-exposure matters.
