Monte Schatz

Monte Schatz is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s corporate department.  His practice areas include estate planning, estate and trust administration, tax and estate litigation, business succession planning, corporate governance, tax planning and tax controversies and dispute resolution.

His prior experience includes over thirty-five years of experience in estate planning, trust and probate administration and corporate law. Thirty of those years entailed work in bank corporations with emphasis in wealth management and trust department management and administration. Monte has been active in the practice of law for eight yearsand is an at large director for the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation and served on several other boards and charitable organizations, including his service as president of the Omaha Estate Planning Council from June, 2011 through May 2012. Monte has been recognized by his peers as a Great Plains Super Lawyer in Estates and Trusts and was also recognized as a Top Lawyer of Omaha in Wills, Estates and Trusts. Monte contributed to the Nebraska Lawyer Magazine as an author as well as issue editor.

Monte enjoys spending time with his wife, five children and three grandchildren. He enjoys piano, biking and spending time at the lake.
