Jason Lawrence is an attorney in Lamson Dugan & Murray LLP’s litigation department. He is a native Iowan and graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, where he learned how to apply economic principles to legal issues in the school’s “law and economics” tradition.
He focuses on representing physicians, nurses, hospitals, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other licensed medical professionals. His practice also includes trial and appellate advocacy in complex business, commercial, and construction litigation matters, and he has zealously represented both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal trial courts, state appellate courts, and arbitrations. He has litigated matters ranging from fraud and violation of federal anti-tying laws to employment disputes over covenants not to compete to general contractors’ claims for unpaid costs of work on major construction projects.
Jason places great value on building a strong professional relationship with his clients and understanding their business’s and individual needs, goals, and circumstances. He believes that effective representation in litigation matters requires advising his clients on how decisions made and outcomes obtained in litigation could impact the “big picture” for their business, their family, and themselves.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys poker, philosophy, live concerts, being an uncle to his three nieces and twin nephews, and following the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Penguins, and his alma mater, Pittsburgh Panthers.
