Mr. Settles is a partner of Lamson, Dugan and Murray and is a member of the Firm's Professional Liability Practice Group and Tort Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Settles' practice is devoted entirely to civil trials and appeals, with a primary emphasis on medical malpractice defense litigation. Mr. Settles has represented hospitals, physicians' assistants, and physicians practicing virtually every specialty of medicine. In addition to his trial practice before the state and federal courts in Nebraska, Mr. Settles has appeared before the Nebraska Supreme Court, the Nebraska Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

A Lincoln native, Mr. Settles received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 1989, and graduated from Notre Dame Law School in 1992. In 1991, Mr. Settles was awarded the First Speaker Award for outstanding appellate advocacy. Mr. Settles is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, the Nebraska Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Nebraska and Colorado. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Defense Council Association of Nebraska, and the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys.
