Sarah E. Schleisman

Sarah Schleisman is an associate attorney with Lamson Dugan & Murray’s Litigation Department in West Des Moines, Iowa. Sarah was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from Peoria Notre Dame High School. In December 2018, she graduated magna cum laude from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication and a Minor in Political Science. During college, Sarah worked in communications for the Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance, the Iowa Monarch Conservation Consortium, and the Iowa Water Center. She was also a research assistant for Dr. Stephanie Madon in the Department of Psychology and researched reform of the criminal justice system and police interrogations. Upon graduation from Iowa State University, Sarah was inducted into the Michael Bugeja Chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society, reserved for journalism students who rank in the top ten percent of their graduating class. Sarah graduated with High Honors from Drake University Law School in May 2022. She also received her Food and Agricultural Law Certificate. While in law school, Sarah clerked for Gribble, Boles, Stewart & Witosky and at Conterra Ag Capital. During her last year at Drake, Sarah served as the Executive Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law and was voted by her peers to receive the Editorial Board Member of the Year Award. Her Note, Water Quality Along the Mississippi: Its History, Two Different State Approaches, and the Big Picture, was published in the Drake Journal of Agriculture Law. She was awarded two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Torts and Agricultural Law.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and taking her two dogs, Penny and Jango, to the park.
