Lamson, Dugan and Murray maintains an active insurance regulation practice. The experienced attorneys in this practice area have developed a wide range of contacts among regulators, legislators and the insurance industry in the 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Those attorneys represent and coordinate clients' interests in matters before insurance regulators in various states and the NAIC.

The attorneys of the Firm are involved in company formations, licensing, holding company matters, mergers, acquisitions, demutualizations and redomestications. In addition, clients are frequently counseled on issues relating to reinsurance, taxes, compliance, surplus lines and product development. Attorneys represent clients in administrative and disciplinary proceedings. The Firm's insurance regulation attorneys prepare quarterly reports, annual reports and other documents in compliance with federal and state insurance laws and regulations. Our attorneys also plan and form risk-retention groups and purchasing groups and develop self-insured programs.

Lamson, Dugan and Murray represents clients in insurance/reinsurance arbitrations, and several of its attorneys have experience as members of arbitration panels. The blending of knowledge of the insurance business with the Firm's litigation skills serves insurance clients well.
